Tummy tuck or abdominoplasty procedure helps to remove excess of skin and fat from the abdomen area. We employ other special techniques to tighten the abdominal muscles thereby not only treating the divarication of recti but also helps to define and get a beautiful waistline, a near hour-glass! Tummy tuck procedure is now fast becoming one of the most common procedures in both men and women. It is usually combined with Liposuction to give a nice contour to the body.
If there is not only a fat accumulation at the level of the stomach, but there is also a surplus of skin (a hanging belly), abdominoplasty can offer a solution.
Our unique technique
Our technique is in fact a combination of 3 different techniques: firstly, an extensive liposculpture performed from the abdominal wall, flanks to often in the back. Subsequently, the relaxed straight abdominal muscles are surgically tightened, so that the abdominal wall becomes nicely tight. Finally, the excess skin is removed above the pubic area. The navel is repositioned via a hole in the tightened abdominal skin. The procedure is terminated by placing two fine drains that are brought out through the pubic area and are usually removed after 2 -3 days.
After the surgery, lifting heavy weights (full bucket, child, furniture, etc) is prohibited for 4 – 6 weeks after the procedure.
Depending on the type of work you do, you have to take into account a full work incapacity of one to two weeks.
This operation can be performed in isolation or in combination with breast surgery (breast reduction, breast lifting, breast augmentation), arm lift, thigh lift or face lift surgery. Such combined interventions are then carried out with two teams and in this way the operating time is greatly shortened. (see also Mommy Makeover).
Who should get a Tummy Tuck procedure?
- If you have got a flab in the abdomen which does not go with exercise.
